Welcome
Hi. I'm Rebecca Metz, and I help actors get as good at the business of acting as they are at the craft of acting.
When I graduated from Carnegie Mellon, I thought 'Ok… I've got great training, I've done a showcase for agents, managers, and casting directors, I've moved to LA… Gimme an acting career!'
It didn't happen that way, and I realized pretty quickly that while I knew how to act, I had no idea how to build an acting career; getting specific about my goals, marketing and networking in order to achieve those goals, generating auditions for the right roles, and delivering auditions that book jobs and lead to more auditions.
It took me a long time to figure all of that out, and I created Working Actor Wisdom so you don't have to go through the same thing.
Who is Working Actor Wisdom for?
- Conservatory/studio trained actors who need to bring their business, audition, and social media skills up to the level of their acting skills.
- Actors at the co-star/guest star/supporting level who are actively auditioning and ready to step up to recurring, series regular, lead, and beyond.
- Actors who are new to Los Angeles either after working in New York or another market or building a career from scratch.
How can Working Actor Wisdom help?
Imagine feeling empowered to decide where you want your career to go next, and knowing exactly how to turn that decision into results.
Imagine feeling totally at home in the audition room, knowing exactly how to work with the camera, the audience, and the script so you walk out every time knowing you’re in the running to book the role.
Imagine feeling as confident in your marketing and auditioning as you do in your acting.
How does Working Actor Wisdom work?
Let's start with what Working Actor Wisdom is NOT:
- A one-size-fits-all, prepackaged series of videos or tele-seminars
- A collection of formulas, acronyms, or catchy buzzwords
- A substitute for acting training
So what IS it?
One-on-one, personal, hands-on support with a working actor who has first-hand experience using these skills and strategies to build a successful acting career.
Working Actor Wisdom clients are already good actors; our work together is about building the career and audition skills that make the difference between being a good actor and being a working actor.
