HAPPY 2014!
Yesterday was about saying goodbye to last year, today is about welcoming the next. That makes it a great day for a manifesting ritual… Nothing crazy, just a little exercise to let the Universe know what you want this year to be about, and invite it to get on board.
I'm not talking about 'resolutions,' though you can do those too if you like them. (For me, the 'r' word brings up all kinds of baggage about which ones I met or missed in the past, which sends me off in the wrong direction. If that happens to you too, feel free to skip 'resolutions' this year!) This ritual is really just a simple breathing exercise:
Sit comfortably and breathe naturally.
On each inhale, imagine filling yourself with all of the things you want in the next year. Abundance, success, love, peace, happiness, fulfillment, good health, adventure, whatever you want. Let each thing have a color, weight, shape, temperature… Feel how each sits in your body and affects you as a whole.
On each exhale, feel yourself letting go of all of the things you dealt with in 2013 that you want to leave behind. Self-criticism, worry, old habits, guilt, etc. (Need ideas? This list of things to let go of in the new year is excellent.) Again, let them have color, weight, shape, and temperature, and feel how your insides change as you exhale them out and let them go.
Continue until you feel a sense of completion. (It doesn't have to be perfect.) Finally, If you like imagery, envision a beautiful goblet filled with all of the things you've invited in for the new year, and raise it up to the Universe as an offering of intention, and an invitation of support.
If you're up for it, here's a special bonus exercise to give your acting career a big jolt in 2014:
Now that you've set your intentions for 2014, consider… Just consider… Adding the following commitment. (Note that this is not a 'resolution,' but a commitment. So much less baggage, right?)
'I will do one thing every day for my career.'
That's it. One thing. And for the next week, all you have to do is consider it. How does that sound? Doable? Worth a shot? If not, let it go. If so, sit with it, let it simmer, and stay tuned for next week's post!
Happy, happy new year. Good things are coming. Trust me.
